A few years ago, without any grey!    Welcome to my page. This is where I'm supposed to rave endlessly about myself, making myself sound like a real prat, or at least a serious geek. I'm 35, a journalism and strategic studies student at Deakin Uni, and hate trying to sum up my life in a few pat phrases!     I'm a nurse by profession, but I'm also a writer of roleplaying game material, HTML code writer, and a taxi driver!
Up on the top of a mountain    I'll be travelling to the U.S.and Canada sometime in the near future, and I'd love to meet people there to show me what life is really like in the States. After all, in Australia, we can only judge the U.S. from the television shows that we get sent!
Modelling a guantlet for a friend's armouring website   One of my passions over the years has been the Society of Creative Anachronism. The SCA is a medieval re-enactment society, devoted to reproducing aspects of the Middle Ages and the Rennaisance.
Playing bocceWearing a helm   It's a magnificent way to spend time, dressing in medieval clothes, eating period food, talking to people, putting on armour, fighting in wars and tournaments, and lots more besides. When an event goes well, it can simply be magical. Even on its bad days it's better than eating a cold pie at the football.
in my new armour, April 2000 in my new armour, April 2000    One recent development is the arrival of my new armour! It's light, it's easy to move in, and it looks SO much better than my old stuff.
in my new armour, April 2000 in my new armour, April 2000    It sure will be interesting to see how I get through customs on my trip, let alone the airport metal detectors ( oh, it must be my car keys in my pocket)
being an idiot!Feasting   An interest in roleplaying games and wargaming led to my involvement in the SCA. What's roleplaying you say? It's a magnificent way to spend an evening, exercising your imagination as you take on the persona of a character in a world devised by the person runnning the game. For a more detailed idea of what roleplaying is check this out.
this is what I look like after no sleep for 36 hoursback in the helm again   More mundane interests include travel, movies, food (I love Japanese food), reading, computer games, chatting on the Net, driving, bushwalking, camping, good intellectual conversation and swimming. I'm a bit of a history buff, and fascinated by astronomy.
Melbourne by night     This is Melbourne, the city I live in. I normally see it like this, at night, due to my nocturnal leanings. It's a city of 3.7 million people, and no, we don't have kangaroos in the streets. We have cars. If you're looking for kangaroos or koalas ( no, they're NOT bears ) , the Melbourne Zoo is a wonderful place to meet them. Melbourne has the best restaurants in Australia, and is a beautiful place to live.
Melbourne by day    I've lived in a few other places around Australia, but Melbourne keeps calling. It's a clean, safe city, with an amazing variety of parks surrounding the inner city. This is a pic of the Yarra river, which runs adjacent to the city. In the summer and autumn, you can see the rowing crews training and sometimes racing.
Jennifer Keyte Unofficial Webpage    I'm also known for having a soft spot for a certain Australian TV celebrity, Jennifer Keyte. Jen has provided a role model for my taking up journalism at Uni, and in my opinion is not only extremely attractive, ( green eyes and bobbed hair...sigh ) but a versatile and intelligent presenter. I've written quite an extensive site devoted to her, which you can see here! ( I used this site as an excuse to learn how to write HTML. )
This area is still under construction. I suppose it always will be.
